5L WEEK 2 AND 3
5L have enjoyed their last two Forest School sessions. During these sessions, they used hand drills and sheath knives to finish making their medals. They enjoyed building a fire and toasting marshmallows. They especially loved eating smorze around the campfire!
5L WEEK 1 - BOW SAWS AND ANIMAL SHELTERS
Last week, 5L had their first Forest School session where they learned how to use a bow saw to cut discs of wood ready to make their own medals. The children enjoyed building animal shelters for woodland creatures in the copse, too.
WEEK 3 - FIRE AND SMORES
Before half-term, 5A enjoyed their last Forest School session where they learned how to build a fire. They had a go at using flint and steel to create a spark. They loved toasting marshmallows on the fire and making smores (and enjoyed eating them too!). They also sang campfire songs together as well.
WEEK 2 - BOW SAW, HAND DRILLS AND NATURAL MATERIAL PICTURES
This week, 5A enjoyed using bow saws again to finish cutting their medals. They learned how to use hand drills to create a hole in their medals, ready to thread string through. They also loved using natural materials to create pictures of woodland animals such as foxes, squirrels and owls.
WEEK 1 - BOW SAW AND ANIMAL SHELTERS - SEPTEMBER 2023
