Welcome to the Year 2 Web Pages

Welcome to our Year 2 Web Pages. Here is what we'll be learning about during the Autumn term:

• In Maths, we are starting with Place Value. We will learn about tens (T) and ones (O) and how to partition numbers. It is important for all children to be able to recognise numbers and be able to form them correctly. We follow White Rose Maths and NCETM in school
• In English, we are learning about sentence structure. What makes a sentence? We will be revisiting capital letters, full stops and adjectives. We will be continuing to develop the children's comprehension skills through weekly whole-class reading activities with a particular focus on fluency. This means we will practise reading the same text repeatedly, trying to get to the stage where it is easy to read with confidence, expression and clarity
• We read texts including Pattan’s Pumpkin, The High Street and Little Red Reading Hood
