3M - DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
The children have been learning about the Digestive System in Science. We drew around Matilda and placed different 'organs' on the outline of the body. We labelled each organ and described its functions in the digestive system.
3M DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
Year 3 children are learning about the digestive system in Science. They set up an experiment to show how food is digested. The food (biscuits/banana) was placed in the 'stomach' (plastic wallet) along with stomach acid (orange juice) and saliva (water). They then churned the food up by squashing the contents of the plastic wallet. The food was placed inside the small intestines (tights). The nutrients passed through the wall of the small intestines. Finally, the waste was passed through the large intestines.
YEAR 3 TEETH AND HEALTHY EATING
Finally, Year 3 has been looking at teeth and finding out how clean they are. They used disclosing tablets to see where plaque showed up on their teeth, then brushed them to see if there was a difference before and after brushing!
